Facebook has hired an outside consultant to help the company analyze video game ads and determine which ones are harming gamers.
In a statement posted Wednesday to the company’s blog, Facebook said the work is being done by an outside team with “close relationships” to the game developers.
“The team has a long history of using this kind of analysis to make the right decision on behalf of our community,” the statement read.
“We are confident that our work will provide the best results.”
The announcement comes a week after the social network said it would start requiring game developers to disclose how many people watched their ads, and whether those viewers were paying for in-game purchases or other ad-based purchases.
Earlier this week, Facebook began requiring developers to do the same.
